Rhett Huebschmann Sounds so nice, I had to support it twice! The second time around was to pick up one of the remaining copies of the album. Definitely inspired by ISIS, these guys make an album that borrows heavily after the 'Panopticon,' or 'Oceanic' days, but that's OK! You'll almost feel like you are listening to a 'Lost Tapes' album at times. Favorite track: Reverse Mirror.
Sekator thumbnail
Sekator Really well done post metal, mixing in some solid doses of sludge and more ethereal clean elements. Really good dynamics and excellent songwriting. Very trance-inducing and organic sounding too. Favorite track: As Well as the Body.

Jacob Hrajnik Great record, vast improvement on all accounts from their previous record "House of Leaves", Sarin demonstrates they are one of Canada's premier post-metal bands. Monograph is a slow crawl from beautiful & touching to stormy & devastating. I'd have to say Sarin's strongest quality as a band is their ability to make smart arrangements. Favorite track: Monograph.

Stijn Van Hees The sonic wealth and emotional depth of this release makes me easily forgive their huge debt to ISIS and Godflesh. If you're into those bands, don't miss out on Sarin. Favorite track: Reverse Mirror.
Zhakathoom thumbnail
Zhakathoom There's some goodness on this, but you(I) really need to be in the mood for it. Some of the tracks are comparatively accessible and easy to digest, but for stuff like "apparitions under glass", despite the superb title, I really need to be in a special place mind-wise..

It's for some, but not for all. Then again; when you love it, it's that special kind of love that makes you grin stupidly.

Thomas Gilliam Really excellent Post Metal in the vein of Oceanic and Panopticon era Isis. Favorite track: Reverse Mirror.

Track Name: As Well as the Body
I can see it when I shut my eyes
Buried deep in my skull
This place beneath
Has been, can't be

I've been right here, wasting away
Frail, formless, falling on
Hold these bones and hold this body
Keep them from what death may come
Track Name: Monograph
Stay, remain

Skin has cracked with years
In this place we built
Of saline breath and tears
And walls that never wilt
Build the body black
Cut a fractured frame
Suffering but still
Comes to you again

(Sink on)
Track Name: -
Our machine
Hands we knew
Our invention
Cut us in two

Come carry the bones
Come through and bury them
Come down and split the void

Sleep won't sway this
Arms won't take this
Until the dark gives way

(Come down and split the void)
Track Name: Reverse Mirror
(I'll be here
When you wake
When this all slips away
When you come to)

I can't see it yet
Mirror keeps my eyes
But I know that you're right there
On the other side
